Organising a birthday party can be a stressful job with so many things to organise and remember. Jackie from Jabberjacks has a few helpful hints to help take some of that stress away and help you enjoy the party too! After all the whole point of getting a professional entertainer in is so that you can relax and join in the fun with your child.
Tying a few balloons to the gate outside your home or hall will help guests find the party easily.
Have a small table set aside for children to place gifts on as they arrive. Saving the opening of presents for later helps to keep the cards and labels on so you know who to thank and it will dispel that flat feeling when all the guests have gone home.
Beware of spending too much time preparing the party food. Party boxes filled with food are a good idea as you can do all the preparation before the party begins and it saves the hassle of having to pass things around.
Drinks in boxes with a straw are also good and they prevent the inevitable spillages from being too dramatic.
If you are short of table space, simply seat children on the floor around a paper tablecloth. This can be picked up and thrown straight into the bin when they have finished.
If the party is in a hall don’t forget to take some matches for the birthday cake, blue tack for decorations, your camera and some bin liners for clearing away rubbish at the end.
